Our Community based Inspire programs work in remote, rural and metropolitan areas across Australia in some of the most disadvantaged communities. The young people we work with are at serious risk of becoming detached from their schools, communities and at times, even family life. The purpose of our community programs is to 'inspire' young people to set goals in life and empower them to be able to achieve them. Children and young people 'learn what they live'. It is estimated that 90-95% of all human behaviours are learned through modelling, strongly influenced by the quality of relationship between the role model and the learning, the higher the regard, the more likely the young person is to follow by example.Inspire uses well respected professional role models brought in from the fields of music, sport and art, to deliver long term structured activities based in film-making, sport, art and caring for the environment to engage young people and give them the opportunity to realise their talents and potential. We recruit mentors from the local community to work alongside the role models, encouraging and guiding the young people throughout the process and towards achieving something they can feel proud of. Stride coaches, trains and works with the mentors, role models and schools and community organisations to help keep young people in school, connected to their communities and learning essential life skills such as goal setting, communication, leadership, teamwork and how to make the right decisions.INSPIRE OUTCOMESYoung people are:
