Stride Foundation creates programs for students and teachers to develop
supportive communities for young
people.
We deliver our programs to students, teachers and parents.
We have a schedule of training days throughout Australia
annually for teachers. We also deliver tailored programs
to suit the needs of schools or communities throughout
Australia.
Alternatively, we also have a program of teacher workshops
in the Stride Offices. Please refer to workshop
timetable for more information.
If you are interested in running or attending an Achieve
workshop please contact us on office@stride.org.au or
phone us on (03) 9489 1611.
The programs that we are currently delivering in the
Australian community include:
Peer Support – A social skills program that
trains older students to interact with younger students.
This program has been proven to positively impact schools
by developing a sense of connectedness within age groups.
Peer mentoring teaches students to assist one another
and to seek adult help when necessary.
Peer Mediation – A conflict management program
that trains students in mediation skills to allow them
to assist other students who may be facing conflict,
especially in the schoolyard during break times.
Get it Together (Secondary) and Go
for It (Primary) – Leadership
training programs for students. This training is especially
designed for young people selected for leadership roles
in the school.
MPower Girls – The MPower Girls program explores
issues of bullying, self-esteem and relationships between
girls, assisting them to develop skills to cope and respond
to issues such as: teasing, gossip, exclusion and other
situations common among young women.
Revved Up – An anger management program for boys
designed to help young people identify their own personal
responses to situations that affect their lives and provide
individual anger management strategies.
Supportive Friends – This program helps young
people identify problems and assist friends to work on
their own solutions to difficult situations. Students
are trained to pass on serious issues to an adult.
Fantastic Friends – This program addresses the increasing issue of depression in young children. Fantastic Friends teaches primary and middle-years children to understand their own and other people's feelings and to know what action they may take if they are in a difficult or disturbing situation. Fantastic Friends helps students learn to identify what issues require adult support and how to support other students with issues to gain the support they need.
Communicate – A personal development program with a fun activity focus which trains students in developing better communication skills. This program comes with a great game for the classroom that illustrates to young people the importance of good communication skills.
