Ask for Help Cards Appeal
Stride is developing a wallet sized ‘Ask for help’ card. The card is designed for young people who may be at risk of drug and alcohol abuse, depression and suicide or who may be experiencing other serious issues in their lives.
The card lets the young person know they are not alone and provides them with the phone numbers for relevant help lines, so they are able to access assistance whenever needed.
At Stride we have found that when a young person has a major problem or issue they are struggling with, they are more likely to tell one of their friends rather than an adult, so the card will also carry instructions should the young person hand it to a friend or peer.
These simple instructions will tell the person what they need to do to give the troubled youth the help they are desperately asking for.
The cards are designed so that young people can carry it with them at all times, it is clear, concise and easy to follow.
Please assist us to develop and distribute these cards so that we may offer hope to a young person facing an impossible problem.
