Revved
Up is an anger management program for boys, designed
to help young men identify their own personal responses
to situations that affect their lives and provide individual
anger management strategies. Revved Up is run as a training
program for teachers, either in schools or at the Stride
Foundation
office.
The Revved Up program empowers boys with strategies to prevent bullying and
violent behaviours in the schoolyard – it encourages
self-monitoring of negative reactions when aggressive
feelings are mounting.
This is an innovative holistic and early intervention
approach to the issue of youth development. Once young
men have gained these skills they can maintain them
and build a more supportive and inclusive whole-school
culture. This has a positive impact on young people’s
relationships with each other, and their teachers, families
and the broader community.
